Outcome of SDT Hearing

This notification relates to a Decision to prosecute before the Solicitors Disciplinary Tribunal. This is an independent Tribunal which reaches its own decision after considering all the evidence, including any evidence put forward by the Respondent. The Tribunal had certified that there was a case to answer.

The matter was heard on 7 – 9 July 2025.   

The Tribunal imposed an Order pursuant to Section 43 of the Solicitors Act 1974 from 9 July 2025 that except in accordance with Law Society permission:- 

• no solicitor shall employ or remunerate, in connection with his practice as a solicitor Manuel Lopez-Martinez;
• no employee of a solicitor shall employ or remunerate, in connection with the solicitor’s practice the said Manuel Lopez-Martinez;
• no recognised body shall employ or remunerate the said Manuel Lopez-Martinez;
• no manager or employee of a recognised body shall employ or remunerate the said Manuel Lopez-Martinez in connection with the business of that body;
• no recognised body or manager or employee of such a body shall permit the said Manuel Lopez-Martinez to be a manager of the body;
• no recognised body or manager or employee of such a body shall permit the said Manuel Lopez-Martinez to have an interest in the body.
