Outcome of SDT Hearing

This notification relates to a Decision to prosecute before the Solicitors Disciplinary Tribunal. This is an independent Tribunal which reaches its own decision after considering all the evidence, including any evidence put forward by the Respondent. The Tribunal had certified that there was a case to answer.

On 21 December 2020 the SDT considered and approved an Agreed Outcome.   

The Tribunal ordered that, as from 21 December 2020, except in accordance with Law Society permission:

• No solicitor shall employ or remunerate, in connection with his practice as a solicitor Mr Yasar Majeed Malik;
• No employee of a solicitor shall employ or remunerate, in connection with the solicitor’s practice the said Mr Malik;
• No recognised body shall employ or remunerate the said  Mr Malik;
• No manager or employee of a recognised body shall employ or remunerate the said Mr Malik in connection with the business of that body;
• No recognised body or manager or employee of such a body shall permit the said Mr Malik to be a manager of the body;
• No recognised body or manager or employee of such a body shall permit the said Mr Malik to have an interest in the body.
