Financial penalties – our proposed new approach

Learn more about our ongoing consultation - and put your questions to our panel - on the detail of proposed reforms to our approach to issuing financial penalties for law firms and solicitors.
Among the areas we are consulting on, and will be discussing, are:
- Plans to improve the openness and robustness of our procedures
- The introduction of fixed fines for lower-level misconduct
- New arrangements to directly link all fine levels to bandings based on percentages of income/turnover – for both firms and individuals
- Piloting the use of victim impact statements for cases involving sexual misconduct, discrimination or any form of harassment.
