Potential scam emails claiming to be from SRA

A large number of firms have reported receiving emails claiming to be from us.

Examples we have seen describe complaints about negligence claims in conveyancing, and use the email address solicitorsregulationsauthoritycomplaints@conect.org.uk.

These emails probably contain links that allow malware to be installed on internal IT systems. Further information on when we email firms, including the only official email addresses that we use, can be found here

Our latest Risk Outlook report looked at the issue of cybercrime and information security.

Advice and information on protecting your firm against attacks can be found on our cybercrime page.
