Outcome of SDT Hearing

This notification relates to a Decision to prosecute before the Solicitors Disciplinary Tribunal. This is an independent Tribunal which reaches its own decision after considering all the evidence, including any evidence put forward by the Respondent. The Tribunal had certified that there was a case to answer.

The matter was heard on 10 and 11 December 2019.  

Mr. El Diwany was Struck Off the Roll.

The SDT’s Order and Findings are subject to an Appeal to the High Court (Administrative Court) by Mr. El Diwany. The Order remains in force pending the High Court’s decision on the Appeal.

The Appeal to the High Court was heard on 03 – 04 February 2021 and was dismissed.

Mr El-Diwany sought permission to appeal the decision of the High Court to the Court of Appeal. Permission was refused.

The Order therefore remains in force.
