Mr Feargrieve was issued with a rebuke and ordered to pay the SRA’s costs of £300 in investigating this matter.

Mr Feargrieve was convicted of common assault on 16 December 2019. Mr Feargrieve was given the following sentence on 22 January 2020:
- A fine of £900
- A victim surcharge of £90
- Compensation payable to Mr Engler of £500
- Costs of £775
It was found by virtue of his conviction that Mr Feargrieve has failed to act in a way that upholds public trust and confidence in the solicitors’ profession in breach of Principle 2 of the SRA Principles 2019.
