Outcome of SDT Hearing

This notification relates to a Decision to prosecute before the Solicitors Disciplinary Tribunal. This is an independent Tribunal which reaches its own decision after considering all the evidence, including any evidence put forward by the Respondent. The Tribunal had certified that there was a case to answer.

The matter was heard on 17 and 18 March 2020, and 7 and 8 September 2020.

Mr Poddar was  suspended from practice indefinitely.

The SDT’s Order and Findings are subject to an Appeal to the High Court (Administrative Court) by Mr. Poddar.  The Order remains in force pending the High Court’s decision on the Appeal.  

Following a hearing at the Administrative Court on the 20 October 2021, Mr Poddar’s appeal was dismissed.  The SDT Order remains in force.
