David Wyld & Co Solicitors LLP have been granted permission under Section 41 of the Solicitors Act 1974 to employ Mr Shabaz Ahmed as a senior litigation executive, subject to the following conditions:

1. Mr Amgbah’s work is limited to that described in the firm’s application dated 29 January 2020, email and attached job description dated 12 May 2020 and application dated 6 March 2023.
2. Mr Amgbah is directly supervised by Grace Osewele. In Miss Osewele’s absence, Mr Amgbah is directly supervised by Balajanaki Srinivasan.
3. Mr Amgbah will not have access to any office or client account; will not act as a signatory to any client or office account; will not have the power to authorise transfers from any client or office account; and will not have any responsibility for the firm’s accounting functions.
4. Mr Amgbah must not hold himself out as a solicitor.
5. Any proposed variation in the terms of the job description or supervision arrangements must be notified to the SRA in advance of the change taking place and the variation must not take place unless and until permission is granted.
6. This approval and the conditions attached to it are reviewable at the SRA’s discretion at such time(s) as the SRA thinks fit.
7. This approval will lapse if Mr Amgbah’s employment with the firm is terminated.

Reasons/basis

Mr Amgbah was struck off the roll of solicitors on 9 June 2009. In accordance with Section 41 of the Solicitors Act 1974, any solicitor wishing to employ or remunerate him in connection with their practise as a solicitor must obtain the SRA’s approval. The SRA is satisfied that the above employment will not put public confidence in the administration of justice and the provision of legal services or the interests of clients at risk.

Privatus has been granted permission under Section 41 of the Solicitors Act 1974 to employ Mr Cyprian Amgbah as a Senior Immigration Caseworker, subject to the following conditions:

1. Mr Amgbah’s work will be directly supervised by Mr Ivon Sampson, and in his absence by a locum solicitor appointed by Mr Sampson. 
2. Mr Amgbah’s employment at Privatus is limited to that described in the following documents:
   • Section 41 Approval of Employment Application form signed by Mr Ivon Sampson, dated 16 March 2022.
   • Job description for Mr Cyprian Amgbah attached to Section 41 Approval of Employment Application form.
3. Mr Amgbah’s supervision is as per the details provided to us in the Section 41 Approval of Employment Application form signed by Mr Sampson on 16 March 2022 and the additional email received from Mr Sampson dated 13 May 2022.
4. Any proposed variation to Mr Amgbah’s job description, duties, or arrangements as to his supervision are notified to the SRA in advance of the changes taking place and that the variation must not take place until permission is granted by the SRA. Any proposed changes to the composition of the firm is also to be notified in advance to the SRA.
5. Mr Amgbah shall not have any responsibility for or be involved in the supervision of any other employee at Privatus.
6. Mr Amgbah shall not have any responsibility for receiving or holding client money.
7. This approval will lapse if Mr Amgbah’s employment with Privatus is terminated.
8. This approval and the conditions attached to it are subject to review at the absolute discretion of the SRA.
