Fylde Coast Advice and Legal Centre have been granted permission under Section 43 of the Solicitors Act 1974 to employ Ronald Heywood as a as a Senior Legal Caseworker, subject to the following conditions:
- Ronald Heywood’s employment at Fylde Coast Advice & Legal Centre is limited to that as provided by the legal centre to the SRA within the following documents:
- Application form signed by Mr Bannister and Dr Heywood, dated 25 September 2018.
- Letter from Mr Bannister to the SRA, which was received on 9 May 2018.
- Job description supplied by Mr Bannister to the SRA, on 23 July 2018.
- Email from Mr Bannister to the SRA, dated 11 July 2017.
- Any proposed variation to Ronald Heywood’s duties, or arrangements as to his supervision are notified to the SRA in advance of the change taking place and that the variation must not take place until permission is granted by the SRA.
- This approval and the conditions attached to it are subject to review at the absolute discretion of the SRA.
Reasons/basis
Ronald Heywood was made subject to an order under Section 43 of the Solicitors Act 1974 on 11 January 2011.
In accordance with Section 43, any solicitor wishing to employ or remunerate him in connection with their practise as a solicitor must obtain the SRA’s approval.
The SRA is satisfied that the above employment will not put public confidence in the administration of justice and the provision of legal services or the interests of clients at risk.
