Outcome of SDT Hearing

This notification relates to a Decision to prosecute before the Solicitors Disciplinary Tribunal. This is an independent Tribunal which reaches its own decision after considering all the evidence, including any evidence put forward by the Respondent. The Tribunal had certified that there was a case to answer. 

The matter was heard on 15, 16 and 17 January 2019 and 15 April 2019. 

The Tribunal ordered that, as from 15 April 2019, except in accordance with Law Society permission:

1. No solicitor shall employ or remunerate Ms Curaba, in connection with his practice as a solicitor; 
2. No employee of a solicitor shall employ or remunerate Ms Curaba, in connection with the solicitor's practice; 
3. No recognised body shall employ or remunerate the said Ms Curaba; 
4. No manager or employee of a recognised body shall employ or remunerate the said Ms Curaba in connection with the business of that body; 
5. No recognised body or manager or employee of such a body shall permit the said Ms Curaba to be a manager of the body; 
6. No recognised body or manager or employee of such a body shall permit the said Ms Curaba to have an interest in the body.
