Warning: WhatsApp, letters and other documents misusing the name and photo of Rosehana Amin of Clyde & Co LLP

WhatsApp messages have been sent to a member of the public misusing the name of Rosehana Amin of Clyde & Co LLP in relation to recovery of funds.
What is the scam?
The SRA was advised that WhatsApp messages were sent to a member of the public in relation to recovery of funds after a supposed fraud.
WhatsApp messages seen by the SRA state that there is an investigation by an IT department regarding fraud and that the recipient may be able to recover their lost funds. WhatsApp messages also state that attorney’s fees will be deducted once the lost funds are recovered.
WhatsApp messages misuse the name of Rosehana Amin of Clyde & Co LLP, her SRA number, her photograph, the firm’s head office address and Companies House information. Additionally, there is also misuse of a document alleging to be a practising certificate, and purported Clyde & Co letter head.
WhatsApp messages were sent from the telephone number +44 7771 076175.
