A website at 'www.probatemasterssolicitors.com' is operating and claiming to be a law firm called ‘Probate Masters Solicitors’.
What is the scam?
A website at 'www.probatemasterssolicitors.com' is operating and claiming to be a law firm called 'Probate Masters Solicitors'
The website provides a telephone number '+44 7441922015', an email address of 'info@probatemasterssolicitors.com' and a postal address of '68 St. Martin's Lane Westminster London WC2N 4JS'.
The SRA does not authorise and regulate a firm of solicitors called 'Probate Masters Solicitors'.
The website misuses the name and photograph of genuine solicitors and the name and photograph of a genuine staff member of a genuine firm of solicitors (see below).
Any business or transaction through 'Probate Masters Solicitors' or any of the contact details above are not undertaken by a firm or individual authorised and regulated by the SRA.
Is there a genuine firm or person?
The SRA authorises and regulates genuine solicitors called Terence Walker and Howard Wright, whom are both employed at a genuine firm of solicitors called Jackamans Solicitors.
The genuine firm Jackmans Solicitors also employs a staff member called Sharon Mowat.
The genuine profiles including photograph can be found at the firm website at www.jackamans.co.uk.
The genuine firm Jackmans Solicitors and the genuine solicitors Terence Walker and Howard Wright and the staff member Sharon Mowat have confirmed they do not have any connection to ‘Probate Masters Solicitors’.
What should I do?
When a firm's or individual's identity has been copied exactly (or cloned), due diligence is necessary. If you receive correspondence claiming to be from the above firm(s) or individual(s), or information of a similar nature to that described, you should conduct your own due diligence by checking the authenticity of the correspondence by contacting the law firm directly by reliable and established means. You can contact the SRA to find out if individuals or firms are regulated and authorised by the SRA and verify an individual's or firm's practising details. Other verification methods, such as checking public records (e.g. telephone directories and company records) may be required in other circumstances.
