A website at 'www.reedconsultancyfirm.com' is operating and misusing images of solicitors employed at Farrer & Co LLP.
What is the scam?
The SRA has been informed that a website at 'www.reedconsultancyfirm.com' is operating and claiming to be an international law firm called Reed Consultancy Firm.
The website misuses the name and photo of a genuine solicitor (see below) employed at a genuine firm.
Any business or transaction through the website at 'www.reedconsultancyfirm.com' is not undertaken by a genuine individual or firm of solicitors.
Is there a genuine firm or person?
The website profile images of the following solicitors who are all authorised and regulated by the SRA and employed at Farrer & Co LLP have been misused:
- "Ryan Mason, Senior Counsel" is Charlie Anderson, Senior Counsel.
- "Raymond Shulle, Associate" is Graham Anderson, Senior Counsel.
- "Hailey Ramona, Solicitor" is Jennifer Abey, Senior Associate.
- "Victoria Madden, Associate" is Victoria Atkins, Senior Associate.
- "Jennifer Abey, Associate" is Kate Allass, Partner.
- "Amen Barry, Trainee Solicitor" is Amen Alonge, Associate.
Farrer & Co LLP and all the above solicitors have confirmed that they do not have any connection to the website above.
What should I do?
When a firm's or individual's identity has been copied exactly (or cloned), due diligence is necessary. If you receive correspondence claiming to be from the above firm(s) or individual(s), or information of a similar nature to that described, you should conduct your own due diligence by checking the authenticity of the correspondence by contacting the law firm directly by reliable and established means. You can contact the SRA to find out if individuals or firms are regulated and authorised by the SRA and verify an individual's or firm's practising details. Other verification methods, such as checking public records (e.g. telephone directories and company records) may be required in other circumstances.
