Warning: Francis Bill Solicitors LLP claiming to be a law firm

A letter has been sent to a member of the public from a 'Francis Bill' at 'Francis Bill Solicitors LLP' or 'Francis Bill Law' in relation to an unclaimed life insurance policy.
What is the scam?
The SRA has seen a copy of a letter which has been sent to a member of the public from a 'Francis Bill' at 'Francis Bill Solicitors LLP' or 'Francis Bill Law' in relation to an unclaimed life insurance policy.
The recipient was asked to 'consent to be in partnership' with 'Francis Bill' to claim the life insurance policy and receive a share of the money in the policy.
The letter seen by the SRA gives the email address of 'francisbill@mail.com' and 'info@francisbilllaw.com', the telephone number of '+447442745067' and the address of '20 Bloomsbury Street, London WC1B 3QJ'. The letter also provides a website address of 'https://francisbilllaw.com'. The website provides the address of '20 Bonhill Street, London EC2A 4DN'.
The SRA does not authorise or regulate a firm called 'Francis Bill Solicitors LLP' or 'Francis Bill Law' or an individual called 'Francis Bill'.
Any business or transaction through any of the contact details above, 'Francis Bill Solicitors LLP' or 'Francis Bill Law' or 'Francis Bill' is not undertaken by a firm or individual authorised and regulated by the SRA.
What should I do?
When a firm's or individual's identity has been copied exactly (or cloned), due diligence is necessary. If you receive correspondence claiming to be from the above firm(s) or individual(s), or information of a similar nature to that described, you should conduct your own due diligence by checking the authenticity of the correspondence by contacting the law firm directly by reliable and established means. You can contact the SRA to find out if individuals or firms are regulated and authorised by the SRA and verify an individual's or firm's practising details. Other verification methods, such as checking public records (e.g. telephone directories and company records) may be required in other circumstances.
