Warning: Bogus website misusing the name of Sebastian Edward Lettouche

The website 'https://lettoucheconsultants.com' is misusing the name of a genuine solicitor.

What is the scam?

The SRA has been advised that a bogus website is operating at 'https://lettoucheconsultants.com' which misuses the name of a genuine solicitor (see details below).

The bogus website alleges that, 'Mr Lettouche provides legal guidance' and that 'Lettouche Consultancy specialises in overseeing settlement agreements between financial companies and their customers'.

The office address provided on the bogus website is 6-9 Manor Gardens, London, N7 6LA, an email address of 'contact@lettoucheconsultants.com' and telephone number +44 7354893381.  

The bogus website also has the logos for the Solicitors Regulation Authority and The Law Society.

The SRA does not authorise or regulate a firm of solicitors called 'Lettouche Consultants'.

Any business or transaction through the bogus website, email and telephone number above is not undertaken by a firm or individual authorised or regulated by the SRA.

Is there a genuine firm or person?

The SRA authorises and regulates a genuine solicitor called Sebastian Edward Lettouche (SRA ID 34298).

The genuine solicitor has confirmed that they have no connection to the bogus website described in the above alert.

What should I do?

When a firm's or individual's identity has been copied exactly (or cloned), due diligence is necessary. If you receive correspondence claiming to be from the above firm(s) or individual(s), or information of a similar nature to that described, you should conduct your own due diligence by checking the authenticity of the correspondence by contacting the law firm directly by reliable and established means. You can contact the SRA to find out if individuals or firms are regulated and authorised by the SRA and verify an individual's or firm's practising details. Other verification methods, such as checking public records (e.g. telephone directories and company records) may be required in other circumstances.
