Emails have been sent misusing the name James Scott Thomas Anderson, in relation to a chargeback application.

What is the scam?

Emails have been sent misusing the name of a genuine solicitor and the website 'www.lawmaster.info' is operating and falsely claiming to be a law firm.

The emails have been sent in relation to a chargeback application. The sender request's identity documents, bank statements and a link to the application form. The bogus website address is www.lawmaster.info.

The email provides the telephone numbers +447418379772 and +3197010270533.

The SRA does not authorise or regulate a firm of solicitors called 'Law Master'.

Any business or transaction through the email addresses above is not undertaken by a firm or individual authorised and regulated by the SRA.

Is there a genuine firm or person?

The SRA authorises and regulates a genuine solicitor called James Thomas Anderson (SRA number 26591) who has confirmed that he has no connection to the details referred to in the above alert.

What should I do?
