A website is operating and misusing the name of a genuine law firm Hilton Law and the names of genuine solicitors Paul Hilton and Michael Lipman.

What is the scam?

A member of the public has informed the SRA that a website is operating and misusing the name of a genuine law firm and the names of genuine solicitors (see details below).

The SRA has been informed that the website address is: https://hiltonlaw.uk/.

The website provides the office address as: Oxford Science Park, Oxford, OX4 4GA.

The website lists Paul Hilton as the supposed founder and IP Attorney of the firm and Michael Lipman as a consultant and solicitor working at the firm.

Any business or transaction through the above website is not undertaken by any firm or individual authorised and regulated by the SRA.

Is there a genuine firm or person?

The SRA authorises and regulates a genuine firm of solicitors called Hilton Law (SRA number 564235). The genuine address of the firm's head office is 10 Market Street, Altrincham, Cheshire WA14 1QB. The firm's genuine website address is: https://hiltonlaw.co.uk/.

The SRA authorises and regulates a genuine solicitor called Paul Hilton (SRA ID: 258283).

The SRA authorises and regulates a genuine solicitor called Michael Lipman (SRA ID: 159357).

The genuine firm and genuine solicitors have confirmed that they have no connection to the website or details referred to in the alert above.

What should I do?
