Complete survey to prepare for Financial Action Task Force
06 February 2026
The government is inviting firms that are subject to anti-money laundering regulations, to complete an online survey. The information collected will be used to prepare for the 2027 Financial Action Task Force (FATF) evaluation of the UK.
FATF is an international body which sets global anti-money laundering (AML) and counter-terrorist financing (CTF) standards. FATF periodically evaluates member countries' AML and CTF protections under a process of mutual evaluation by peers. The UK's last mutual evaluation was in 2018, with a progress report in 2022.
FATF is set to conduct another mutual evaluation of the UK in 2027. HM Treasury is gathering relevant data in advance to demonstrate that the UK has robust AML and CFT defences. As well as using existing data such as HMT's Annual Supervision Reports, they are seeking some additional information from firms which are subject to AML regulation.
The survey is open until 31 March 2026
If your firm works in an area with exposure to terrorist financing and proliferation financing risks, please consider responding and helping to show that the UK has a strong and effective AML and CFT regime in place.
The survey takes around 20 minutes to complete and should be completed by 31 March 2026.
