Important update to guidance on claims management activity

We have updated our claims management activity guidance. The guidance applies to all claim types, not just motor finance commission or financial services claims.

Changes to the guidance include:

  • having checks in place to confirm clients haven't already instructed someone else
  • letting your client know straight away if you become aware of a duplicate claim
  • making sure clients have the information they need, and you don't continue to act for them without their consent
  • not taking unfair advantage of clients who might have inadvertently instructed you.
