Outcome of SDT Hearing
This notification relates to a Decision to bring Disciplinary Proceedings before the Solicitors Disciplinary Tribunal. This is an independent Tribunal which reaches its own decision after considering all the evidence, including any evidence put forward by the Respondent. The Tribunal had certified that there was a case to answer.
The matter was heard on 30 June and 1 – 2 July 2026.
Mr. Keir was reprimanded and subject to the following restrictions:
The Respondent may not:
- Be Compliance Officer for Finance and Administration (“COFA”) for a minimum period of 12 months.
- The period condition specified above shall take effect 28 days from the date of this Order.
- The Respondent must complete an SRA approved COFA training course should he wish to undertake the role of COFA after the minimum period.
- There be liberty to either party to apply to the Tribunal to vary the conditions set out above.
