Warning: Website claiming to be a law firm 'Trust Law' misusing the name of multiple solicitors, the trading name and website of a genuine firm of solicitors

The website ‘www.trusttlaw.com’ is falsely claiming to be a law firm 'Trust Law', misusing the name of multiple genuine solicitors and the website and trading name of Gibbens & Company (Solicitors) Limited (trading as TrustLaw Solicitors) (see below)
What is the scam?
The SRA has been informed that a website is operating and presenting itself as a law firm's website under the name 'Trust Law', falsely offering various legal services. The name 'Trust Law' bears a resemblance to a genuine firm of solicitors trading name (see details below).
The bogus website provides the telephone number '+44 203 953 6094', WhatsApp number '+44 7514 141975', email address 'contact@trusttlaw.com' and the office address shown is '1 Ropemaker St, London, England'.
The website claims there are multiple regulated individuals working at this firm, namely;
- James Richardson - Senior Partner & Founder
- Sarah Mitchell - Senior Partner
- Michael Chen - Senior Partner
- Emma Thomson - Associate
- David Williams - Senior Solicitor
- Rachel Davies - Associate
- Ahmed Al-Rashid - Senior Solicitor
The SRA does not authorise or regulate any individuals with the name 'Michael Chen' or 'Ahmed Al-Rashid' or a firm named 'Trust Law'.
Any business or transactions through the website address 'www.trusttlaw.com', email address, telephone numbers, or address described above are not undertaken by a firm or individual authorised and regulated by the SRA.
Is there a genuine firm or person?
The SRA authorises and regulates a genuine firm of solicitors called Gibbens & Company (Solicitors) Limited (trading as TrustLaw Solicitors) whose SRA ID is 566717. The genuine firm uses the email domain @trustlaw.co.uk and the genuine firm's website is http://www.trustlaw.co.uk (please note the singular 't' in the word trust).
The genuine firm has confirmed that it has no connection to the website and contact details referred to in the above alert.
The SRA authorises and regulates multiple individuals named James Richardson, Sarah Mitchell, Emma Thompson, David Williams and Rachel Davies.
The SRA does not believe these genuine individuals have any connection to the website mentioned in the above alert.
What should I do?
When a firm's or individual's identity has been copied exactly (or cloned), due diligence is necessary. If you receive correspondence claiming to be from the above firm(s) or individual(s), or information of a similar nature to that described, you should conduct your own due diligence by checking the authenticity of the correspondence by contacting the law firm directly by reliable and established means. You can contact the SRA to find out if individuals or firms are regulated and authorised by the SRA and verify an individual's or firm's practising details. Other verification methods, such as checking public records (e.g. telephone directories and company records) may be required in other circumstances.
