Warning: Correspondence misusing the names Noof Matar and Wafi London Ltd
16 October 2026
Documents have been sent misusing the names and details of Wafi London Ltd and Noof Matar.
What is the scam?
The SRA has seen multiple documents that have been sent misusing the name of a genuine solicitor (see below) and falsely purporting to be from the same genuine firm (see below). The documents, and the website referred to above, refer to supposedly helping clients recover funds lost to forex companies, cryptocurrency platforms and online scams. The documents seen include a supposed contract and a false 'Court document', which purports to give court approval to a bank account. These indicate that a client of those providing the bogus website and documents was asked to make a substantial upfront payment and to pay substantial supposed 'Court fees'.
The documents seen also show a bogus circular blue legal 'stamp'. This stamp misuses the name and company number of the genuine firm in the upper section, and misuses the name and SRA number of the genuine solicitor lower down (see below for genuine details).
Any business or transactions through the telephone numbers, email address or documents described above, or generally through the website 'https://waffi-law.com/', are not undertaken by a firm or individual authorised and regulated by the SRA.
Further, the courts in England and Wales do not authorise firm bank accounts.

The SRA authorises and regulates a genuine solicitor named Noof Matar (SRA ID: 611148). Noof Matar has confirmed that they have no connection to Wafi London Ltd or the correspondence mentioned in the alert above.
What should I do?
When a firm's or individual's identity has been copied exactly (or cloned), due diligence is necessary. If you receive correspondence claiming to be from the above firm(s) or individual(s), or information of a similar nature to that described, you should conduct your own due diligence by checking the authenticity of the correspondence by contacting the law firm directly by reliable and established means. You can contact the SRA to find out if individuals or firms are regulated and authorised by the SRA and verify an individual's or firm's practising details. Other verification methods, such as checking public records (e.g. telephone directories and company records) may be required in other circumstances.
