Outcome of SDT Hearing

This notification relates to a Decision to prosecute before the Solicitors Disciplinary Tribunal. This is an independent Tribunal which reaches its own decision after considering all the evidence, including any evidence put forward by the Respondent. The Tribunal had certified that there was a case to answer.

The matter was heard on  18 – 21 October 2021 and decision handed down on 25 January 2022.  

Mr. Mariaddan was Struck Off the Roll.

On 20 and 21 July 2022 the High Court considered Mr Mariaddan’s appeal against the findings of the SDT where on 25 January 2022 he was struck off the Roll and ordered to pay SRA costs. 

Judgement was handed down on 3 February 2023. The appeal was dismissed in its entirety and costs awarded to the SRA.
