Outcome of SDT Hearing

This notification relates to a Decision to bring Disciplinary Proceedings before the Solicitors Disciplinary Tribunal. This is an independent Tribunal which reaches its own decision after considering all the evidence, including any evidence put forward by the Respondent. The Tribunal had certified that there was a case to answer.

On 11 March 2026 the SDT considered and approved an Agreed Outcome.   

The Tribunal approved the Agreed Outcome and ordered that Ms Austen be suspended from practice as a solicitor for a period of 12 months to commence on 11 March 2026, and will be subject to a Restriction Order imposing conditions on practice as follows: 

Upon the expiry of the fixed term of suspension referred to above, the Respondent shall be subject to conditions imposed by the Tribunal for a period of 24 months as follows:
