Significant progress made supporting clients of PM Law

We continue to make significant progress in helping former clients of PM Law following our intervention into the firm in February. Tens of thousands of documents have been secured, more than 17,000 clients have been contacted, and over £9 million has been returned so far.

Since intervening into PM Law on 4 February, we have taken significant steps to support thousands of impacted clients. While the scale of work remains substantial, we are prioritising urgent cases, supporting clients with active legal matters, and continuing to process compensation fund applications.

The closure of the firm has undoubtedly been distressing for former clients, and we understand that every case is important.

The intervention involved an extensive operation across the PM Law group, which comprised 11 companies and more than 30 trading. Tens of thousands of digital and physical files have been recovered, including thousands of boxes from 25 offices.

Financial concerns remain a key focus. Over £9 million has been returned to clients, primarily relating to residential property transactions, through a combination of a Statutory Trust and the SRA's compensation fund. While the process is complex and ongoing, all efforts are being made to ensure fair, accurate and timely resolutions for affected clients.
