Terms and conditions of the licence

The general conditions which apply to licensed bodies contained in Rule 8 of the SRA Authorisation Rules for Legal Services Bodies and Licensable Bodies as applicable.

Any obligation which may from time to time be imposed on [The Firm] or a manager, employee, or non-authorised interest-holder in [The Firm] by or under the SRA's licensing rules or by or under the LSA, or any other enactment.

[The Firm] may carry on exempt regulated activities under Part XX of the Financial Services and Markets Act 2000 provided that such activities arise out of or are complementary to the firm’s reserved legal activities or other legal activities.

other than for the activities mentioned above, no formal legal assessment of fault may be undertaken on any matter by CHMC Limited or AAIS that may form part of any matter that could, regardless of probability, proceed to litigation, and any informal assessment of fault may be conducted only for the purposes of directing a claimant to the appropriate firm or department. The view reached by the individual conducting that informal assessment as to fault should not be communicated to the claimant;

that no work is transferred from AA Law Limited to AAIS or CHMC Limited;

where work is transferred from CHMC Limited or AAIS to AA Law Limited, it must be made transparent to the client, in writing, the point at which AA Law Limited takes over conduct of a matter and the client becomes subject to the protections afforded to clients of an SRA regulated firm;

that the branding and logo for AA Law Limited must be sufficiently different from that of CHMC Limited and AAIS that it can be easily identified as a separate business, although this shall not prevent AA Law Limited from using "AA" or "the AA" or any similar mark as part of its corporate or trading name; and

that the directors of AA Law Limited who are also involved in CHMC Limited and/or AAIS, namely Janet Connor, Mark Hammond and Mark Millar do not communicate to CHMC Limited and/or AAIS, or make use of, any client information they have access to in their roles as directors of AA Law Limited.
