Decision details
Without prejudice to any other matters or issues, Sean Callaghan’s application for a practising certificate for the practice year 2021/2022 has been refused.
Sean Callaghan’s conduct poses a risk to the public interest and the trust the public places in the provision of legal services.
This decision is made having regard to the regulatory objectives contained in the Legal Services Act 2007 and the regulatory arrangements of the SRA.
Reasons/basis
The SRA publishes regulatory decisions when it considers it to be in the public interest. I consider, in accordance with the SRA’s guidance on publishing regulatory and disciplinary decisions, to be transparent and to maintain public confidence in the regulatory system, that it is necessary for details of this refusal to be published.
There are no factors which would support a decision not to publish by reference to the guidance. I also note that Mr Callaghan has not made any representation against publication.
