Charles Frederick Mackenzie who is not a solicitor, was employed by Lyons Davidson Limited whose head office is at 43 Queen Square, Bristol, BS1 4QP between 5 February 2018 and 5 September 2018 when he was dismissed.
It was found that:
- Mr Mackenzie copied client signatures from one document and pasted them into another on at least three occasions in or around August 2018.
- The above conduct was dishonest and breached SRA Principles 2 and 6 of the SRA Principles 2011. SRA Principle 2 requires Mr Mackenzie to act with integrity and SRA Principle 6 requires him to behave in a way that maintains the public’s trust and confidence in him and the profession.
Mr Mackenzie was made subject to a disqualification order under section 99 of the Legal Services Act 2007. This order prevents him from holding any of the following roles in a licensed body:
- Head of Legal Practice
- Head of Finance and Administration
- A manager
- An employee.
He was also directed to pay costs of £600.
