Outcome of SDT Hearing 

This notification relates to a Decision to prosecute before the Solicitors Disciplinary Tribunal. This is an independent Tribunal which reaches its own decision after considering all the evidence, including any evidence put forward by the Respondent. The Tribunal had certified that there was a case to answer. 

 The matter was heard on 8 and 9 April 2019. 

 Ms. Miah was fined £12,000 and it was further ordered that, except in accordance with Law Society permission:- 

No solicitor shall employ or remunerate in connection with their practice as a solicitor, Jusna Begum Miah 

No employee of a solicitor shall employ or remunerate in connection with the solicitor’s practice, Jusna Begum Miah 

No recognised body shall employ or remunerate Jusna Begum Miah 

No manager or employee of a recognised body shall employ or remunerate Jusna Begum Miah in connection with the business of that body 

No recognised body or manager or employee of such a body shall permit the said Jusna Begum Miah be manager of the body 

No recognised body or manger or employee of such a body shall permit Jusna Begum Miah to have an interest in the body.
